Ipads and split pins

We have been busy in Class 3 using our new ipads.  The children have begun to learn how to write biographies (this week the children will write a biography for a new character who will be appearing in their own Up - The Sequel stories).  The ipads enabled the children to research, in house groups, Walt Disney and produce his biography.  And caused much excitement in the classroom!

Maths this week looked at multiplication using the grid, expanded and short written methods.  To apply mastery many children wrote their own word puzzles to incorporate a multiplication calculation.

DT saw the children finish their designs for an amazon rainforest split pin toy.  The children also learnt the important aspect of evaluation once they had made their animals.

I would just like to, once again, congratulate all the children on their home learning.  We have so far had some fantastic homework produced for the rainforest and equivalent fractions.  We appreciate the time and effort the children are putting into their homework.  They are certainly taking PRIDE in their work.  As well as the home learning task, the children are still being allocated their Bug Club books and Active Learn  games.

Next week the children will be looking at division and factors in Maths, continuing their biographical learning in literacy and will be spending  the afternoons trying to create a rainforest symphony!!
