It has been an exciting week here already. We have begun to learn our songs for the forthcoming KS2 production, met and interviewed the Bishop of Colchester, Bishop Roger and begun to look at Classification in Science. On top of this we learnt the features of a persuasive advert, started to learn the art of debate, (should trees continue to be cut in the Amazon Rainforest to help landless people?), and revised our mathematical vocabulary when talking about both 2d and 3d shapes.
Tomorrow our excitement culminates with the KS2 trip to Colchester Zoo. This is an important curriculum visit where Class 3 will be following the Amazon Trail whilst continuing to learn about Classification by attending a workshop hosted by Colchester Zoo. Can I thank our parent helpers Mrs Easton, Mrs Simpson and Mrs Toyne for volunteering to join in our fun.
Next week we shall be learning to write in a journalistic style as we report on our trip to the Zoo, in maths we shall be adding and subtracting money as we count the monies raised so far in our Class fundraising (don't forget to buy a Balloon ticket!). We shall also practice our athletic skills for our forthcoming Sports Day and hopefully find many live minibeasts to classify as we dig up the playing field in the name of Science!!
Hope to see many of you at the School Fayre on Saturday.
