All things mini-beast and ipads

What a fantastic science afternoon we had today.  The weather was beautiful for our trip around the garden in search of mini-beasts.  Following on from the trip to Colchester Zoo, Class 3 have been busy identifying mini-beasts and asking key questions.  We were delighted to be able to take the Ipads out and took many photos of the beasts we found.

Next week is really busy as we have Sports Day on Tuesday, a visiting Author on Wednesday, a special Magna Carta assembly on Monday and Oaks and Acorns on Thursday!  Curriculum wise we shall be looking at comparing measures in Maths, continuing our journalistic writing in Literacy and looking at adaptation in Science.

As we have been very busy this week I have yet to send the homework books home, many apologies. However the books will be sent home tomorrow and the children will have one week to complete their leaning task.  Their task is:

"To design a model of a river.  As Designers we need to have an understanding of the precise measurements of the model (for example: how big will it be overall? how wide will the river be?, how long are the tributaries etc). I am expecting you to detail these measurements along with what suitable materials are to be used (cardboard boxes, paper mache, colour tissue paper, plastic, modelling clay, paints) and of course a drawing of the finished article.  This learning task should be over a double-page in the homework books.  Homework due in on Friday, 20th June 2015."

Here are today's science pictures:

Enjoy the weekend!
